Aestheticians in Santa Monica and Los Angeles are a dime a dozen. When there’s so many options to choose from, how do you discern the good from the bad? More importantly, and perhaps something that’s a bit more difficult to do, how do you choose the best from among the good?

When you choose Modern Aesthetica for a PDO Thread Lift, you are getting the best possible aesthetic service in the Santa Monica/Los Angeles area. At our clinic, our doctor, Daniel Moghadam, gives you the personal care and attention you should expect from a top-quality aesthetics practice.

At Modern Aesthetica, our personal conviction is that doctor and patient should work in tandem to reach aesthetic goals. That’s why our doctor works with each of our clients to create restorative treatment plans that are custom designed for them. After all, wellness goals are as unique as the people themselves. That’s why we will never try to box you into a “one-size-fits-all” treatment plan. It’s why we offer so many different services at our wellness clinic.

So if you’re looking for a non-surgical alternative to a traditional facelift, a PDO Thread Lift may be just the treatment you need. We offer this treatment because its non-invasive and leaves lasting effects that really take years off your face.

If you’ve never heard of this revolutionary procedure before, or perhaps you just want a little more information before you book an appointment, read on to learn more. At Modern Aesthetica we believe that patients should have options that not only give them the results they are looking for, but also ones that are designed to increase their own body’s natural healing functions.

We believe in the most natural approach to healing and wellness as possible. That’s why we offer services that place a high value on regenerative medicine.

As we get older, gravity gets the best of us and the skin on our face begins to loosen. We usually see these effects in the areas around our eyes, our neck, our cheeks, and jawline.

While PDO Thread Lifts work particularly well in restoring your skin in the neck and jawline area, our clients have gotten PDO Thread Lifts in different areas of their body as well. You can use this lift to help deal with sagging skin on your upper arms, stomach, buttocks, and thighs

The two main causes for the drooping effect is the loss of fat and the loss of collagen. The latter is an issue that a PDO Thread Lift is designed to help remedy.

One of the best things about the PDO Thread Lift is that it activates and then utilizes your body’s own collagen production to lift your skin. What’s more is that this procedure allows you to experience more and more of the results as time goes by.

While most people start looking into surgical options to get the facelift they want, PDO Thread Lifts provide an effective non-surgical alternative. A PDO Thread Lift does not have to be limited to facial treatments.

At Modern Aesthetica we utilize two different types of PDO threads and techniques:

The Nu-Mesh procedure uses smaller threads to create a “net” under the sagging skin. This net is designed to stimulate the production of collagen and allows your skin to tighten naturally from the inside out. This procedure is great if you want a natural-looking result.

The Nu-Lift technique utilizes barbed sutures to create a more noticeable result. These sutures gather the sagging tissue and create a tighter look. While the results of this treatment are noticeable immediately, you’ll still be able to see even better results over time as the collagen production really begins to ramp up.

Modern Aesthetica uses the techniques described above to provide immense aesthetic benefits to clients at our Santa Monica wellness clinic. If you’d like to learn more about the benefits a PDO Thread Lift can provide, check out our videos below.

Why Should You Get A PDO Thread Lift

The first benefit of a PDO Thread Lift we want to highlight is the amount of time the procedure normally takes. When you get your PDO facelift, or any other type of skin lift, done with Modern Aesthetica you’re looking at an average time of 1-2 hours.

This means you can even get this procedure done during a workday with a slightly longer lunch. In fact, a PDO Thread Lift is also known as a lunchtime facelift precisely because it goes by so quickly. The effectiveness and speed of this treatment will be sure to impress your coworkers as you get back to work with immediate results, no incisions, and such a quick turnaround time.

For those who can’t get a traditional facelift, a PDO Thread Lift is a great alternative

While the amount of time the initial procedure takes is certainly a factor to take into consideration when deciding whether to do a Thread Lift over a traditional facelift, you should also consider whether or not a surgical procedure is something you’re able to go through.

A PDO Thread Lift can give hope to those who can’t go through a traditional surgical process. If you have pre-existing conditions like diabetes, obesity, unstable blood pressure, or any heart issues, surgery should be avoided at all costs.

Another benefit of getting a PDO Thread Lift is the absorbable PDO threads we use. Because these threads are completely dissolvable, they provide zero risk of scarring. They are also done below the skin so you have no unsightly sutures to deal with while you are recovering from your facelift.

Most microneedling treatments start with a cleanse and application of a cream with slight numbing effects. In microneedling, extremely short and fine needs are inserted into the skin and create microscopic holes in your skin. Microneedling alone causes the skin to increase collagen production in key areas. This can help to treat scars, wrinkles, and even large pores. It can also give your skin a youthful glow and make it significantly softer.

When we insert these sutures under the skin, your body’s response is to produce collagen. At Modern Aesthetica, we believe our bodies are already great at healing themselves; we’re just here to help the process work more efficiently, especially as we get on in age and our collagen production decreases.

Even after the threads have dissolved, the results will continue to show.

How do scars form?

When the dermis (which is the deep, thick layer) of skin is damaged, scarring occurs. Scars are a natural part of the body’s healing process and appear when a wound is fully healed.

When your body has a wound, new collagen is formed to mend the damage. This new tissue that’s formed has a different appearance and texture than the skin around it. This is what creates the scarring effect.

When you have a surgery, the most common type of scars you’ll probably come away with are scars that have a sunken appearance. This happens because you’ve lost some of the fat or muscle under your skin.

Most wounds scar, if even just a tiny one, which makes this particular benefit from a PDO Thread Lift even more amazing. Because there are no incisions made in this treatment at all, and the sutures are inserted with such tiny needle pricks, your skin won’t scar in the healing process.

Recovery from a PDO Thread Lift looks pretty different from recovering from a traditional facelift.

After a traditional facelift surgery, you are likely to be heavily sedated, meaning you’ll need help getting home from the appointment. In contrast, a PDO Thread Lift requires local anesthesia meaning you can get back to your daily activities straight away.

Some of the possible side effects are bruising and swelling, though these should solve themselves in a matter of days.

If you experience any pain after the procedure, over the counter medication should be sufficient to deal with it. If you are experiencing extreme amounts of pain that lasts, please contact your doctor.

What can I do during the recovery process to help it along?

PDO thread lifts are perfect for those who have demanding lives — whether that be at home, at your career, or both. The non-invasive nature of the procedure ensures you’ll deal with less complications after its completed.

So while a PDO Thread Lift treatment inherently has a minimal amount of recovery time, there are some things you can do to keep things moving smoothly:

  • When washing and applying moisturizer to your face, keep rubbing down to a minimum.
  • It’s best to avoid sleeping on your face whenever possible. Using more pillows to prop up your head when sleeping can help you do this.
  • Stay out of direct sunlight as much as you can. Also, do not use tanning beds.
  • Try to keep yourself from situations where you’d have to open your mouth wide (i.e. schedule dental appointments at least two weeks out from your PDO Thread Lift)

While the results from a PDO Thread Lift can be seen immediately, you’ll really start to notice them within 1-2 weeks.

What’s even better is the results don’t stop there. While your skin produces more collagen, your skin will tighten even further.

Even after the threads have dissolved, the results will continue to show. A single PDO facelift can last up to two years depending upon how it’s performed, the individual patient, and the amount of care taken after the procedure.

Additionally, these treatments boast an even lower risk because the sutures can simply be removed. This means if the sutures are visible, or you aren’t getting the results you’re looking for, you can have them taken out and your face will return to how it was. Traditional facelifts have effects that last longer and require much greater effort to reverse

Let the results speak for themselves

They say a picture is worth a thousand words for a good reason. While we could talk about the benefits of a PDO Thread Lift until we’re blue in the face, we figured we’d let our results speak for themselves.
